The horns finished and are taking a break while we record vocals.
I think we’ll be done early today!!
So cool!
Sorry my last blog was so random yesterday!
The three piece finally finished yesterday. Today we’ll be finishing a different song.
The bass and drums were finished in two hours. Oreska Band has great bass! Tomi taught me how to play the bass part for the song we’re recording now. The bass is so hard! But bassists are so cool! They’re like bwaaah!!
I’ve been playing guitar lately. It sounds good! I have to learn some new chords soon. I’m bored of playing the same ones all the time.
We started recording today. All the people that are with us for this are really happy people! The drums came out really great and they were like, “Let’s go drinking!” It was so funny!
When I got home, I looked up at the moon. But it’s so cloudy I can barely see it. It’s always there, but some days you can’t see it. I think that’s such a natural things.
I’ll work hard again tomorrow!
I just had a break for lunch, and now I look about 3 months pregnant. Hahaha.
We’re going to record the next song now. The three piece is deciding on the sound and checking the rhythm now.
The horns get a little break.
The horns just finished!
Saki: Today’s guest is Morimoringu!
Moriko: Hey, I’m Moriringu.
Saki: Things are going so well today! Hee hee hee
Moriko: They are! It’s all thanks to our producer, Tatsu-san.
Saki: Tatsu-san is a god! Praise the god!
Moriko: God!
Saki: And that was Morimoringu!
Moriko: Bye bye!
I guess we’ll start the next song next?
The guitar parts are done! We’ve been going so fast today! Ikasu-chin is going to lay down some vocals now. And then finally it’s the horns! We’re going to make something really great! Just wait for it!
We finished the drums in two and a half hours! Wow! Now it’s Ikasu-chin’s turn.
The horns have been taking a ton of photos with the digital camera they got.
I wonder what time we’ll be done today? It’s going great!
We’re recording now!
Terry came to get us so we’re all driving there. The horns are sleeping, Tae and Tomi are talking, and I can’t see what Ikasu is doing from where I am. She’s probably sleeping.
Oh, Leader woke up.
Hey. It's been a while. This is Ikasu.
My stomach isn't doing so well. Maybe I'll go get some good herbal medicine from Futako-san (Leader's mother.)
My hair is really terrible looking too.
Yesterday we went out to eat with Kano-san and Tatsu-san, who are the engineers we'll be working with on our next record, and we talked about some twins they know.
They're identical, so they look exactly the same. If you were dating one of them, I wonder if you could tell them apart? If everyone in the world had the same face (not that that would every happen) would you be able to find the person you loved?
What you can hear
What you can see
Isn't all there is
I've been thinking about a lot tonight. A night drowned in thought. How cool! (LOL)

You connect headphones to this and raise or lower everyone's volume until you get everything balanced right. I still can't use it very well.

My instrument. I bought it in my second year of high school. There's still a lot I don't know about it.

This is our engineer Ueyama-san. We're all using masks in Osaka now.

The usual scene in the studio. I'm continuing the Photo Blog over 100. I'll be putting photos up from time to time, so look forward to that!
Starting today Oreska has a new rule: if you're even one minute late, you have to pay a 500 yen (albout $5) penalty.
I wonder who will end up paying the most?
It's scary!
And in my essays from Elementary School, I wrote that when I wanted to be a pirate when I grew up.
And my mom said, "You know there are no pirates like Luffy, right?"
She didn't even object. (LOL)
I was going through my bookshelves and I found our Middle School essays.
So I read mine. I didn't know what I'd written...
I love everyone!
That's really lame. How trite. (LOL)
I never know what to title my entries, so I went with a song title today.
The horns are heading into the studio now.
I ran into a friend from middle school named Emo-chan at the station. It made me happy.
It was funny because I'd been reading my school essays yesterday.
Today we started pre-production for our new song at a studio in Osaka. We always fix the mic settings when I got into the studio. Saki is the one who always sets it up for me, and lately she's become an old pro at handling the shield (the cord that connects the mic to the amp).
I forgot that was so moved by her artistic setting that I took pics. It's like this.

We are all supposed to do our own stuff. (LOL)
Oh, I've got no picture of Saki! Oh well. Here's the one that comes up when I call her on my phone.ああ、肝心のサキの写真がない。

I answer her calls because this picture makes me happy.
I was playing my mini acoustic guitar for the first time in a while, and on of the strings broke. Come to think of it, I've had this guitar for a year, but I haven't played it much.
So I changes the strings for the first time in my life. Yikes, I was so nervous! I looked up on the internet how to change it and it took me about an hour. But I did it!

Huh? It's kind of dirty. More importantly, I...wound it too much? Did I wind it too tight? Oh...oh well.
But it sounds great!
Thanks for my first experience, strings. Watch out for overwinding~! Yahoo!
I watched Alien vs. Predator.
The screen is so dark I spent most of the time like, 'Huh?'
The alien is so gross! And way bigger than I thought. And it's head is so long!
Why was Saki going to McDonald's that late at night??
You may think you've still got a young person's stomach, but you're wrong!
So I'm staying up late again tonight. My BGM right now is Hanaregumi. It's such gentle music.
I put a CDR into my PC to send the other girls the track we recorded at the studio today, but it just wouldn't work.
So of coourse I got pissed off and tried thumping the PC. Nothing happened.
Then I got it.
My computer is breaking because I always treat it this way! Hahahaha
my favorite photo !!

Our roadie Tohru-san.

The infamous lights guy Himossan.

The PA Hama-chan-san

At McDonald's they said, "There will be about a 2 minte, is that alright?"
And I thought, sure, I can totally wait two minutes! So I did.
But it turned out to be 10 minutes! What was taking them so long?
I took a bunch of photos during our solo tour. Here they are!
This is from when Saki and I went to buy lunch for everyone in Kobe.

In the green room of UPSET.

Ikasu during rehearsals.

After the show.

in big cat.

Tomi

The sunlight is like summer! I went to Yamatogawa to play, and it was really lively today.
These elementary school boys came running by and they ripped off their clothes to reveal bathing suits. I thought, "No way, they can't be..."
Splash!
They started swimming in the Yamatogawa, said to be the second dirtiest river in Japan!
Wow, it really is true that the heat makes people crazy!
Lately it smells like summer outside. Is this smell particular to Sakai, or is this just the way summer smells in Japan? Either way, I love the scent of summer. Even though I hate summer. It's too hot.
When I'm out of the house a lot when I go home I notice the way my house smells (it's home smell).
When the other girls smell my clothes they say, 'It smells like your house, Ikasu." I used to not know what that meant, but now I do. I think.
Everyone's house has a smell.
Tomi's house smells very clean. Tae-san and Saki have both moved, but it's funny because their new houses smell like their old houses.
Leader and Moriko's homesmell is the most surprising. Leader and Moriko shared a hotel room for PUNK SPRING, and it smelled like home - or like their apartment. (Leader and Moriko live in the same apartment building.)
Where do these home smells come from? It's a mystery.
家臭って一体どこからくるんや。謎。
Today the horns are in the studio writing a song. I thought it was pretty much done but it's got all these pieces missing, so I'm a little bummed.
I was going to Ikasu's to play her what we recorded today, but the second I stepped outside it started raining.
It stopped when I got to Ikasu's house.
We talked things over and she gave me some ideas and I had a good idea of how I wanted it to be and I left to go back to my place...
And it started raining!
I guess I just bring the rain?
Gimme a break!
Now I'm going to go get it done!
Today I want to write down something said by my beloved Luffy.
"I decided to become it so I don't care if I die in the fight to make that happen."
Let me use these words someday, if it's not copyright infringement.
I didn't go to Kiyoshiro-san's memorial service.
I don't know if I couldn't go or just didn't go, but I just couldn't make myself go. I wonder why?
I've heard what different people have to say about it, and as the days pass it all seems less real. But I did hear that it was a good service, which I'm glad about.
The things I got [from him] won't ever fade or disappear.
I want to live strong, just like Kiyoshiro-san.
Saki got here early, but I got here 5 minutes late. I got on the wrong train. How many times have I been to the office?? sigh.
Today's the end of our break. My mom and I had a picnic at Daisen Park.
We talked about things like, 'Bugs don't freak you out anymore.', and really felt the passing of time. We had a a great time.
What days will be born from the future?
Oreska goes back to work today.
We've got a meeting at the office now. I haven't seen everyone in a while, so I can't wait!
I'm so looking forward to it that I got here early!
Heh heh
This is a little late, but thanks so much to everyone who came to our solo tour! It made me so happy to realize again just how many people care about us!
We'll keep on doing our best!
After the tour ended we had 6 days off.
My plan was just to see as may people as possible!
I haven't been able to see many people lately because I've been stuck indoors, so I decided to see them.
There are still a lot of people I haven't see yet. I just keep making promises to meet.
It makes me happy when people want to see me, and I want to treasure all the people who like me.
But now I've got a meeting. We haven't seen each other in a week. I wonder what we'll talk about?

I walked this path for a while, and passed Dangyo Shrine and I finally arrived at the waterfall.
Umm…

There’s not much water. (LOL)(
But it’s pretty impressive anyway.

The waterfall was supposed to be the main attraction, but for some reason I left quickly. Next I went to the Tamawakasumi Shrine. This island has a lto of shrines.

Next to the above is a cypress tree that has been there for over 2,000 years! It’s really impressive!

There are all these posts up to support it. It really makes you feel how long 2000 years is.
But look how blue the sky was! It felt so great!

And then I found an interesting warning.
I get what it’s saying, but…br />

The intro is so long! (LOL)
Then I went to the marina.

Drinking with this scenery behind you was so nice! br />
But when you travel alone, it’s the people you meet on your trip that really make it. And I didn’t really meet many people this trip. I talked to myself a lot. But I wonder if the reason the music I listened to filled my heart so fully is that I didn’t have any other distractions. I’ve spent a lto of time thinking about pointless things and missing all the most amazing things. I had a great trip. Farewell, and thank you Oki!

Now then! Candle Island is a famous Island nearby. There’s a place with rocks shaped like candles and when the sun sets at a certain point it looks just like lit candles. I rode out in a small boat to see that. Unfortunately it was cloudy and my guide said we wouldn’t be able to see it today. But I gave him the money for the tour, got on the boat and tried to see, but we couldn’t see. And the guide was kind of surly. Then we got to Candle Island, but we counldn’y see anything. Just the interesting shaped rocks. I took a photo anyway.

And we looked at other rocks.

I was thinking about how it was too bad, and the sun gradually came out from the clouds, and the guide who had been so quite started moving. He said, “We may be able to see it!” He grabbed the wheel and we went back to Candle Island. “Everyone gather over here!” The guide was suddenly all fired up! We all started getting excited. The faint evening sun was sinking closer to Candle Island…..and it lit!!

When I looked back, the guide had a huge grin on his face. He grabbed my shoulder and took me to the best place to take a photograph. Oh, I understand now! You just wanted to be able to show us all the wonderful view that is Candle Island! I was so moved at the old guide’s love for Candle Island, the way he tookm his boat out every single day to show it to people.
Someone from the hotel came to get us, looked at the clear sky and says, “Let’s go see the sunset!’ and drove us to a place to see the sunset. Here’s what we saw there. />

It was so beautiful. I could feel my heart filling with the kindess of other people and the beauty of the earth. To be continued. (Why is this so long?LOL)(

Our guide. Hee hee.
I couldn’t upload my photos from my phone, so here they are! First I rode on the Kitaro Train to Sakaiminato and grinned the whole way.

From Sakaiminato I took a boat to Oki Island. The boat was called the Rainbow! How exciting!

I went to the culture center to learn about Oki’s history. Then I toured the village house there. Ooh.

I played with the self timer on my camera while I was there.

まだまだ遊ぶ

I was really excited. The self timer is amazing! Who thought of it? It’s wonderful! A round of applause for them!
And next I headed for Candle Island
Do I feel fulfilled or not?
When I talk tot he members on the phone, they sound like they're having so much fun...
Lucky.
It's times like this when I can't be proactive.
How surprising. (LOL)
Even I'm surprised! (LOL)

Wallaby! They're like kangaroos! They were all in a little friendly group.

He's so cool! The white tiger! He's so regal and white!

To be continued in Safari Park 5
After the car, it's a normal zoo! The kind of zoo where you can walk around! La la lal!
A bear!! He's so cute! Look at his expression! He's standing up, like he's saying 'Feed me!' That's amazing!

Monkeys. They're kind of lazy. Look at them! Bwaah~

A squirrel monkey peeked it's head out. Monkeys are our friends!

A Capybara!! It's sooo cute!

In the walking part of the zoo the animals live almost like they're in the wild. So you can see them really close up!
To be continued in Safari Park 4!
To the heribivore zone! This one is much better for those of us in the right lane!
Deer! Deer! You can see them in Nara too! And in Nara you can touch them too!

Oooh! Zebra! Zebra!

A camel! It's sooo huge! HUGE! It's hair is amazing! It looks soft!

What's that? A deer? It's all deer.

An elephant! Elephant! Wow! I tried to take a photo and it turned so it's butt was facing me.

To be continued in Safari Park 3!
I went to the Safari Park in Himeji.
Let me show you some photos!
Welcome to Safari Park!

To the wild zone!
Oh, it's the king of beats! The lion!!
He's so far away!

Sadly there was this huge car next to us the whole time and I couldn't see anything.
And of course there were other wild beasts. See them in Saki's Safari Park part two!
Oreska is in the middle of Golden Week right now.
I'm having a great break.
Me and Tae-chan are the only ones in Osaka right now. Haha!
They abandoned us!
Looking at Moriko's 100th photo post brings back all the excitement of that show! That's great!
Golden Week started for us yesterday.
On the first day I went drinking with my older brother. We talked about our family, ourselves, the past, all sorts of things.
But everyone in my family is really secretive, so there's still a lot I don't know about him. (LOL)
But it was a great night, because I realized just how irreplaceable my brother is to me.
So that excitement is kind of connected to my hangover today (LOL). I woke up to the scent of rum, which is kind of bad.
I think this is the last day of Golden Week for some people. It's my second day. I'm going to enjoy myself! Just do what I wanna do!
[Golden Week: The period from 4/29 to 5/5 which includes 4 public holidays.)

We took this at our Tokyo show! It's a perfect photo for my 100th photo post! Thanks so much to everyone who camed to our What a Wonderful World Tour 09!
I came back from Tokyo today, and a friend I was really close to in middle school invited me out drinking. It was so much fun! It's so great that we can have so much fun just taking pictures.
I definitely want to hang out again!
I think about the what ifs a lot.
One I think about most is, "What if I wasn't a woman?"
This fantasy of mine comes from the fact that being a woman is often a real pain. The worst part is that my face doesn't look interesting without makeup.
And if I was a man, I would learn karate and rush in to save girls from trouble.
Just kidding!
Thank Tokyo!
And of course, thanks also to Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya and Osaka!
I went crazy at the after party, and look what time it is.
Wow! We've got a show again tomorrow.
Let's keep going together! What a wonderful world!
We really were ourselves on stage today! We were way too much our usual selves, and I had to laugh. I really fetl strongly that the six of us our singing together at the today's show.
It was a great night, I think it really connected us to you, and it was really special because it made me realize again just how much fun this is!
And now we begin again from here. I think tomorrow is the beginning.
I'm just so thankful to everyone who was involved in this tour.
Let's go see a wonderful world again tomorrow~!
Thank you so much for today!
Thank you!
It was so so 'Osaka'!!
Because you all thought up the punch line for jokes faster than I did!
Tomorrow is the final day of the tour!
Just wait, Shibuya!!
I just found out, and I don't know what to say.
Kiyoshiro-san died.
Today I'm going to listen to 'I Like You', which is my favorite song of his.
'You don't have to think so hard
Just go with what you feel
You're wonderful just the way you are
Just stay true'
I'm so sad.
NOTE: Kiyoshiro Imawano was an influential Japanese rock musician.
Today was Osaka.
I was so moved by all the people who came to see us.
Sometimes I feel bad about myself, wondering if I'm even taking good enough care of the people next to me, if I'm strong enough to support them...
But if I can sing for the sake of other people, then I want to sing my heart out.
Even if I suck, I want to sing my heart out.
I'm going to sing with that in mind again tomorrow!
Saki's mom is driving us to Big Cat now!
The weather feels great! The strong wind from the window is warm and it tickles my heart!
There's a little traffic. Be careful everyone!
We'll be waiting with all our energy!
Yesterday I took the Kodama shinkansen to visit a friend who living is Shizuoka!
We went to a dining bar with kotatsu, where my friend goes a lot, and I chatted with some people I met there and we all drank until morning.
The ocean is right before my eyes, but the morning sun really burned today!
This is how the day is born every day. We let the ocean wind and the morning sun shine over us and got power from it.
It was totally 'adolescence!'.
On the way home I rode on the HIkari shinkansen, which smelled mysteriously of diapers and slept until Shin-Osaka. That's why I hate the shinkansen!
I'd love to go again with the rest of Oreska, especially dorky Saki!
I ran into Saki.
I was riding my bike to pick up the contacts I'd ordered, and on the way home, I ran into Saki, looking really dorky.
I thought it couldn't be, but it was Saki.
That's always when you see people you know. All you can do is laugh about it.
And I realize, my outfits are not lazy, I am.
And this time. I saw Tomi.
She looked so fashionable.
